¿Por qué Google desarrolló Chrome?

Nadie mejor que los propios desarrolladores y líderes del proyecto para explicar por qué Google tomó la decisión de crear Chrome.

A esta altura hablar de Tarantino es hablar de un estilo. Una forma particular de contar historias, con una estética definida, una atmósfera peculiar, bastante humor negro, y una banda de sonido muy sugestiva. En pocos años logró aquello que todo director novel sueña: que su cine tenga un sello tan distintivo que con sólo ver un par de minutos de la cinta se reconozca quién es el autor. Ahora bien, después de conversar largo y tendidos (sí, tendidos, porque estábamos en una colchoneta haciendo yoga) con el “Negro Fonzi”, columnista de cine y espectáculos de mi programa radial Falso Impostor, pudimos determinar cuáles son las diferencias entre una película cualquiera y una del cinneasttaa nacido en Tennessee; aquí las tienen:
Película cualquiera: Las balas siempre van dirigidas al pecho, los brazos, las piernas o a la pared.
Película de Tarantino: Las balas se incrustan en la frente, la entrepierna, el culo y las fosas nasales de los protagonistas.
Película cualquiera: Una pareja joven hace el amor dentro de un auto, regresan a la ruta y se detienen para comprar chicles en una estación de servicio.
Película de Tarantino: La pareja se manosea con lascivia dentro del auto, de repente él le emboca a ella un cross de derecha en la mandíbula, le tira del pelo, y al rato se largan a reir. Van a la estación de servicio, violan al playero y lo matan. Luego le pegan un chicle en la nariz y vuelven a reírse a carcajadas.
Película cualquiera: En un operativo la policía encuentra un cargamento de drogas. Comienza el tiroteo. Matan a los narcos. Festejan.
Película de Tarantino: La policía le vende un cargamento de drogas a los narcos. Juegan a los dados y el que saca un doble seis ametralla a su amigo de la infancia. Festejan.
Película cualquiera: Un dipsómano y asesino serial es abatido al final del filme después de una larga y tensa persecución policial.
Película de Tarantino: El policía bueno muere ahogado en una bañadera llena de lemoncello mientras el psicópata asesino logra vivir feliz con la esposa y los hijos… del policía.
Película cualquiera: En un momento determinado los guardianes del orden entran de incógnito a un local nocturno donde una mujer realiza un strip-tease. El oficial se enamora de una prostituta y la convence de abandonar ese antro.
Película de Tarantino: Los policías son los dueños del cabarute. Suelen tener una oficinita al fondo en donde toman cocaína y beben bastante whisky. Un teniente obliga a su hermana a prostituirse, incluso a hacerle favores sexuales a todos sus socios y a un reno.
Película cualquiera: Un político mata a su secretaria porque intentó “morderle” unos mangos en uno de sus actos de corrupción.
Película de Tarantino: El político echa por el balcón a su secretaria porque intentó morderlo en un acto de felación.
Película cualquiera: Al principio se presentan los personajes, después se desarrolla la historia y llegado el desenlace se resuelve toda la trama. Fin.
Película de Tarantino: Empieza por el final. Por ejemplo, los tres protagonistas, disfrazados de los Picapiedras, aparecen muertos en un auto. La historia progresa pero de atrás hacia adelante y cuando se van a presentar los personajes -y uno por fin se va a enterar de quiénes se trata- termina abruptamente la película.
La campaña publicitaria de Ikea: “Espera hasta septiembre”

Aunque la idea se ha usado mil veces, de diferentes maneras, Ikea parece estar haciendo algo novedoso e interesante al colocar a Nils, un joven de Alemania, en un apartamento sin muebles. Todo al mejor estilo de “Gran Hemano” u otros realitys por el estilo.
La extraña campaña titulada “Warte bis September” (espera hasta Septiembre) se soporta al 100% en Internet, no sólo se puede ver a Neils escuchando música y chateando en su portatil, tambien peudes seguirlo en Twitter, puedes colocar en tu página web un visor para espiar a Neils, ver sus mejores videos en Youtube.
El concepto tiende a la intriga, es probable que Neils pida todos sus muebles por medio del catálogo de Ikea y dentro de 10 días (espera hasta septiembre) le lleguen a su casa y podamos ver la transformación del espacio. La campaña fue creada por la agencia Nordpol, de Hamburgo.
Después del salto puedes ver a Neils incrustado en Alt1040…

CSS galleries and collections of inspirational designs are nothing new to designers, but sometimes you may be looking specifically for examples of great WordPress themes. Whether you’re working on a theme to distribute to others or if you’re building a custom theme for your own site, it can sometimes help to look at examples of what others have been able to do with WordPress.
We Love WP
The best, most up-to-date gallery for WordPress sites and blogs. We Love WP has been around for over a year and they have a ton of designs for your inspiration (in June they passed 1,000). And of course, you can also subscribe to their feed.
WPCandy Gallery
WPCandy is a popular blog about WordPress that includes a gallery of excellent WordPress-powered sites.
Unmatched Style WordPress Tag
Unmatched Style is one of my favorite galleries, and fortunately they include a tag for WordPress sites so you can easily separate them from the rest of the gallery.
CSS Bloom WordPress Category
CSS Bloom is another gallery that distinguishes WordPress sites/blogs. With well over 100 designs in the WordPress category, CSS Bloom is worth a look.
CSS Glance WordPress Category
With over 300 designs in the WordPress category, CSS Glance is certainly an excellent place for inspiration. Also, CSS Glance is up-to-date and regularly adding new designs.
I Heart Blogs
I Heart Blogs is a pretty cool site with a lot of potential. Too bad it hasn’t been updated in several months. It’s a gallery especially for blogs (variety of platforms). Even though it hasn’t been updated recently, the archives can still provide some inspiration.
WPcube
WPcube is another WordPress-specific gallery. It hasn’t been updated in few weeks, but hopefully more will be coming, because the site already has a nice archive.
LoopPress
LoopPress is a showcase of beautiful WordPress websites, blogs and themes. Decent archives, but not updated very frequently.
Best CSS Gallery, WordPress Tag
Best CSS Gallery is a fairly small gallery in comparison to some of the most popular ones, but they do have a tag for WordPress sites.
45 Excellent Blog Designs from Smashing Magazine
I’m sure you’re familiar with Smashing Magazine’s inspiration posts. They have several that showcase excellent blogs, and one of them separates the blogs on display according to their platform. This list Includes almost 30 that are powered by WordPress.
